Maestrini Bronze Water Intake Scoop (Wedge / 3/4" BSP)

Maestrini scoop strainer made from bronze, with a wedge shaped grating. This scoop is designed for raw water intake systems, such as those used for high speed vessels. It fits through the hull with the grating on the outside and the male threaded pipe leading inside, usually to a valve to open and close the intake.

The scoop grating can be secured to the hull using a screw although it is recommended to use a marine sealant as well. The scoop is also supplied with a back locking nut and washer.

Important note: All fittings used for through hull applications must be correctly electrically bonded to ensure protection from electrolytic corrosion. Bronze is highly suitable for below waterline through hull applications.
